RuneScape has officially opened the second half of Havenhythe, expanding what Jagex describes as the largest area expansion in the MMORPG’s 25-year history. Havenhythe Part II launched on September 28, opening the eastern side of the island while continuing the conflict against the Sanguine threat.

Rather than functioning as a simple map extension, Part II is designed around higher-level exploration and skilling, giving established players several new reasons to remain in Havenhythe after completing its story.

Havenhythe Opens Its Eastern Regions
Part II introduces four major new areas, each built around different activities and threats.

Players can explore locations including Heathervein, Moonsylvar Wood, Fenmoor and Shuruk-Ba, encountering Sanguine werewolves, Bogolins and the dangerous Ravenous Strigoi along the way.

Heathervein introduces new Mining and Crafting opportunities around its quarry, while Fenmoor provides additional Woodcutting and Fletching activities through the Bogolins and their unusual environment.

Players can also discover new Farming patches, fishing locations and tree types. Meanwhile, the remains of Havenhythe’s ancient Colossi provide opportunities to train Divination while uncovering more of the island’s history.

This approach gives the new region longer-term value. Players have reasons to return even after completing the central quests.

Heralds of Crimson Raises the Stakes
The narrative centerpiece is Heralds of Crimson, which concludes the Havenhythe portion of the current Sanguine storyline.

The threat established earlier in the expansion becomes much more immediate as the people of Havenhythe prepare for an invasion involving the Ghrazi Blood Knights.

Jagex describes this as more of a “season finale” than the end of the entire storyline, leaving the door open for the conflict to continue beyond Havenhythe.

The expansion will also lead into a new challenge on October 12, when the Ghrazi Blood Knights arrive as RuneScape’s first duo-only boss encounter.

New Rewards Give Players Reasons to Explore
Part II introduces several rewards tied directly to its new activities.

Players can pursue an ultra-rare best-in-slot hatchet, collect Bogolin Pearls for regional upgrades and rewards, and obtain resources such as Chima Moss Spools, the Bogolin Knife and Torch, and additional sources of rune essence.
