How do you keep an online role-playing game feeling fresh after 15 years? You could add new levels, characters, and gear, but none of those sound as exciting as a healthy dose of cutthroat capitalism. That's why developer Jagex just announced that it's reinventing massively multiplayer online game (MMO) RuneScape as DarkScape, a new world where players can get rich with a new kind of economy, or die trying. In medium-threat areas, there is no risk level, meaning a player can attack another player, regardless of their level difference. Guards are in towns, but do not patrol roads. Medium-threat areas are signified by a red shield and a single sword.
 
High-threat areas also lack risk levels, and are not protected by guards. Two common examples of high-threat areas include upper and basement floors of some buildings, as well as the Wilderness. High-threat areas are signified by a skull and two crossed swords. Some safe areas in original game are changed into high threat area, including Player-owned houses and Rune Essence mine. Darkspace is open to all Runescape players, they can in fact log in using their existing Runescape account, but the game is still new and raw and Jagex hopes to attract a sufficient amount of players to help it finesse the experience. I can only imagine that people who managed to stick with Runescape all this time would be delighted at the prospect of a new, exciting adventure. Personally, though, I’m not that thrilled.
 
Essentially, it sounds like DarkScape could be the "fantasy EvE" that many have been hoping for. And free-to-play, at that. But it should be noted that it is still RuneScape. It is also still experimental, which sounds like the future of the server is uncertain. Nevertheless, it could be great fun while it lasts. The guys at Jagex Studios have again come up with a genius idea to change the game by storm and implement a new variation of Runesacpe called Darkscape. The world of Gielinor (Runescape location) has entered a Dark realm allowing full world PvP! To some players this is a much needed update to the game as many play this game to show their strengths in combat in which Wildy rules (wilderness) apply.
 
Darkscape is free to play and includes most member’s content so you have no excuses not to give it a shot, but be careful. Welcome to Runescape. The game that most of us have all played at some point in our lives. Runescape is a massive multiplayer game that is based mostly on the medieval era were dragons roamed the lands and kings rule with a iron fist. This game has just so much into it that you will always find something new to do. Sense this game was released back in 2001 if has come so far from what it started as. This game is extremely fun and extremely addictive. You will spend countless hours on this game and grind to get levels and items. Everyone has their own pro and cons of this game and some love and hate it.
 
Overall this is a amazing game that is so much fun playing with friends or meeting new people to team up with. Sense there is just so much to do in this game it will take a long time if you plan on trying to complete everything in this game. This game allows you to create your own person and take them on their own adventure as you progress through the game. They now have the current version of Runescape (RS3) and they brought back a more classic version of Runescape (Old School) I will be covering both versions. The story is very well told, and when it grips you it is almost impossible to put the book down. The cliffhanger ending gives me hope for a third book, and if it is as good as this then we are all in for a treat.
 
 
The settings in Return to Canifis also manage to evoke far more enthusiasm from the reader than what went before it. Whilst Varrock is perhaps what you would expect from a fantasy title, Morytania manages to conjure up images of grimy, dirty little hovels and a combination of both dank marshland and industrialized hell. It is very well done, and paints a stark image for the reader. I can highly recommend giving Return to Canifis a read. Despite having to read Betrayal at Falador to understand what’s going on, no further knowledge of the Runescape franchise is needed.
