World Of Warcraft Classic will be throwing players back to the halcyon days of 2004 come August, reverting the MMO back to its original state. But it seems that some have been looking back through rose-coloured glasses, or at least gotten so used to the 15 years of quality of life improvements that they’re confused by some of the game’s original details. As such, Blizzard have released a very lovely list of things to please stop telling them are bugs.

Blizzard has put out a ‘not a bug’ list that covers many commonly-reported features that seem strange to players, such as players and NPCs that are feared running faster, and quest objectives not being tracked on the map or minimap. Respawn rates for creatures is much slower than it is in Battle for Azeroth, and this is intentional – it reflects the respawn rate in the World of Warcraft version 1.12.

It's hard to say how many people are making the mistake when Classic isn't even out yet. But the number is apparently large enough that Blizzard felt it necessary to run down a bunch of actual WoW features in a "Not A Bug" list posted to the Blizzard forums. The intro here kinda says it all: "As we’ve discussed before, the nature of WoW Classic sometimes invokes different memories for different players, and this leads to certain misconceptions for some about what is or isn’t working as intended."

The Blizzard post is getting a ton of attention in the WoW community and reactions vary from excitement to "told you so." Once WoW Classic actually releases, it will be very interesting to see what kind of playerbase the Classic servers pull in after the initial hype dies down. It seems likely that this type of experience is going to appeal to a niche audience, but certainly won't be for everyone.
