When and where to watch the PlayStation State of Play livestream

State of Play is Sony’s regularly scheduled livestream show, which the platform holder’s committed to being a recurring event. The show will return this week on 6th August with a focus on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR software, as well as "quick" updates on some previously announced PlayStation 5 titles.

Sony doesn't plan to reveal any first-party PlayStation Studios titles at this event — but that doesn't automatically mean this is just a blip on the radar before the next PS5 event. The August State of Play is due to last roughly 40 minutes, which means we'll likely see more about cross-gen, third-party games announced at various events in recent weeks. These include Resident Evil Village, Bugsnax, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and perhaps something from Ubisoft, like Watch Dogs: Legion.

There'll be no PlayStation Studios announcements or updates during the next State of Play, which is a surprise considering we're so close to the PS5's release now. There'll also only be small updates to previously announced PS5 games, presumably including Resident Evil Village, Bugsnax, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits. We expect new trailers for Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, too.

Sony will hold another State of Play on Thursday to highlight upcoming PlayStation games, the company announced Monday. Except unlike June's Future of Gaming presentation, this one won't touch on any major news related to the upcoming launch of PlayStation 5. "No big PS5 announcements!" a tweet from the official Twitter account reads.

Our guess is that this 40 minute showcase will focus on titles that Sony has marketing partnerships with. That means we'll almost certainly see Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at some point, while also getting updates on titles like NBA 2K21, FIFA 21, and Marvel's Avengers. There'll also be new PlayStation VR announcements and PS4 indie reveals, although we'll need to wait and see what those entail. Stay tuned to and we will be the first one to inform you all the latest. Besides, our website also offer Cheap PlayStation Store Gift Card for players.
